About

Mission

The goal of Indian River Arts & Concerts is to grow a community of like-minded individuals supporting the arts and helping meet our local community needs. The focus is on original music by nationally and internationally touring as well as local artists in conjunction with graphic arts of all forms. A local hands-on charity is supported each event.

History

Our first concert in Indian River County was in a friend's living room in Vero Beach in 2008 with John Flynn as our first artist.  He will return again this year to close the season. Since that first concert we had house concerts around the county in the homes of good friends who were willing to open their homes to musicians we knew as they toured through the area.

In 2012 we moved camp to sculptor/musican Geoffrey Myers beautiful home on the Indian River in Sebastian. His unique home with Art Deco touches and a built in stage inspired us to add exhibitions of  visual artists to the mix, kicking off the Concerts in the Gallery events with art exhibitions at every show.

Once we got that all figured out (it took a few seasons) we added supporting a local hands-on charity at each event by asking for donations of items for their Wish Lists. We have supported Camp Haven, Backpack Buddies, Humane Society of Vero Beach, Florida Musicians Food Network, SafeSpace of the Treasure Coast, Friends After Diagnosis, and the Economic Opportunities Council of Indian River County.

Our community continued to grow in a grass -roots organic fashion. We reached the point where we overflowed Geoff's home and had a dreaded Waiting List for every event. It was time for a new location.

2016 marked our move to The Heritage Center in Vero Beach's Art District. We made it our home and are excited to have a second season there.

We continue our mission and hope you will join us celebrating art and community.

Be a light in the dark!
